Wilcox Memorial Hospital, Lihue HI.  Interim Director 4/92 - 1/93

Directed and coordinated acquisition and distribution of all medication to the island of Kauai during the aftermath of Hurricane Iniki

Developed and implemented a Drug Formulary resulting in the streamlining of inventory and reduction in drug acquisition costs.

Designed an intervention program which documented cost savings of over $11,000 during the first year.

Modified ordering procedure resulting in a 15% reduction in out of stock items.

Introduced therapeutic substitution which expedited a $4800 decrease in inventory within four months.

Completely reorganized hospital pharmacy physical layout and work flow structure resulting in 50% decrease in turnaround time for new medication orders and a decreased incidence of medication errors.

Revised over 900 items in the hospital charge master guarantying $75,000 in additional revenue within twelve months.
