Egypt

In November 2009 I toured Egypt.  The ancient ruins and artifacts of this unique country are fascinating.  I spent four days traveling solo, followed by two weeks with an Exodus travel group.  Our tour leader, Shammon, knew virtually everything there is to know about Egyptology.  We had impressive lectures and on-site explanations throughout the tour.  I covered the entire length of Egypt from Alexandria in the north to Abu Simbel in the south.

I attempted to select a few representative photos, but still ended up with over 100 pictures on this page.  Unfortunately, many sites are not represented below.  I visited several museums and numerous tombs in which photography was not permitted. Some of the photography-prohibited sites were the most interesting.

The variety of sites we visited in Egypt were incredible and fascinating.  Although my normal travels are primarily trekking adventures, the Egypt tour will be one of my most memorable trips.
