I ran the 25 K trail run and the half marathon at the Durango Double in October. Next year I plan to do the 50 K and full marathon! It was my first organized race larger than a 5 K, so I didn't know what to expect. I met people from all over the US, who were very friendly and even talkative during the runs. Instead of suffering and plodding through the distance, I actually enjoyed running with everyone. It's called Durango Double because if you run both Saturday and Sunday, you've done "the double".
On the way home, we stopped at Mesa Verde N.P. As you can see from the photos, it was cold.
Hill AFB holds an Open Cockpit Day each year. For a few cans of food donation, you can enter 25 aircraft. In addition, they often have pilots and crew who flew the actual aircraft answering questions, telling stories and giving briefings.
