In August 2006 I backpacked into the Sangre De Cristo mountain area.  I was able to summit Humboldt and Crestone Peaks.  Crestone Needle was just beyond my solo capability.  It was very steep and had some loose rocks;  I turned around.  There was lightening every day at noon, and full rain almost every night.  My tent ended up in a swamp by the time the week was over.
